H: My name is Hazami Aida Binti Halim or known as Emily Halim. I quit my job as a Journalist/Editor to pursue my Master Degree in Art and Design. I never expected to leave journalism. Reporting was something I really enjoy, but as the world around us changes, sometimes our dream change too.
T: What would you want to be known for besides travelling?
H: I’m kinda “go green people”. The truth is that every single thing we do every day has an impact on the planet which can be either good or bad.
T: What inspires you to travel and try various adventurous activities?
H: Actually I do love arts and cultures because when you travel and explores, you’re going to realize that there are so many things you haven’t seen and experience yet. Be ready to embrace by warm people with a warm culture and a country with unique traditions.
T: Besides adventure, what excites you more when you’re travelling? Meeting new people? Experiencing a new culture? Food?

T: 3 things you will never leave behind when you are travelling?
H: Camera, map, bag-pack and of course excitement!
T: Your favourite local destination and why?
H: Lombok & Gili Trawangan, Indonesia! It’s one of the hidden gems in the world, with crystal clear water and affordable too. Besides that, uniqueness off Sasak’s people and culture which is the native inhabitants of Lombok; although local society also includes Muslims, Balinese, Chinese, Arabs and Indonesians from other islands. With a mixture of ethnic peoples and religions in Lombok, there are nearly always festivals and celebrations on the island. Seafood is superb and oh, I should mention that “Heaven” is actually right there!
T: Your best travel incident/story that might inspire young Muslims to travel.
H: Mostly, Muslim women are not expected to travel or do any adventurous activities and I honestly believe that as long as it is not against Islamic teaching, women should pack up everything and head out into the unknown, to explore the world and see what it really is.
