Known for its historic architecture, Pudu is a great spot for sightseeing, shopping and of course food-hunting. Buckle up please, we’re going to pudu (literally of course)
Make sure you check out one of the oldest and iconic buildings of Kuala Lumpur, Pudu Jail. Pudu Jail was actually demolished in 1996 but the authorities still kept the prison gate and a portion of the wall. And make sure you Instagram the busy street hawkers of Pudu’s Wai Sek Kai. #dontforgettotagus. Oh, and they normally start around 5 in the evening till late.
There’s something for you too. Make sure you check out VCR café. They serve all kinds of coffee, cakes and delicious selections of breakfast and brunch. We could stay here for hours just to smell the fresh brewed coffee.
2, Jalan Galloway, Bukit Bintang, 50150 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Guess where the Coolest ‘Pasar’ in KL is ? Hosting Kl largest wet market, you can find almost everything (yes!) here. Oh and there’s Chicken rice, ‘Asam Laksa’,’Nasi lemak’ too you know. The market opens daily and starts as early as 6 in the morning till late afternoon.
Stay in one of the coolest hotels in Pudu,Pudu Plaza Hotel. What we really love about this hotel is basically its membership program. They have member room promotion as low as RM 100 Nett per room night! Seriously RM 100 room night right in like the most strategic location in Kuala Lumpur?
If you’re wondering how strategic are we talking about
- walking distance to Pudu LRT Station (7min walk)
- Berjaya Times Square (10 min walk)
- Bukit Bintang (15 min walk)
- Pavilion Mall (20 min walk)
- Pudu Plaza Shopping Mall is attached to the hotel
The hotel also provides free shuttle bus to Bukit Bintang and Ikea,Cheras. Cool, right? So, if you’re looking for a strategic place to stay around KL, now you know which hotel to book!
Dear food hunter
There’s tons of Malaysian street food for you to try in this area, Some of our favourite are,
- Cendol Sulaiman
You have to queue for a while but it’s gonna be worth it once you put a spoonful of the sweet cendol in your mouth.
- MSS Maju
You don’t have to travel all the way to Penang for a good Pasembur. We love the pasembur at MSS Maju. The peanut sauce is simply mouth-watering.
This list can go on and on. We know, perhaps Pudu is not that really glamourous spot to hang out but there’s tons of hidden gems that are waiting to be discovered.
