T: A short bio about yourself, A 3-4 lines that best describe you, what you do for living and so…
S: My name is Shamsul Nirman bin Mohd Hatta. Born in Ipoh 45 years ago but grew up in Kuala Lumpur – TTDI. I’m a finance manager at a Dutch MNC in PJ. I love adventure – I’m a big fan of obstacle races and running (roads and trails). Recently I took up photography (self-learn) and even bought myself a DSLR but I must admit one thing; the best camera is the one that you have with you at that moment. I would also bring my miniature campervan along and use it as a prop.
T: Where have you been?
S: When I was studying in the UK, I managed to travel to Paris and also did road trips across the UK. Now, most of my trips abroad were business trips. I have been to Japan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Me and family went to Gold Coast, Australia recently and it was the best trip ever as we get to spend a whole week together doing things and going places! Quality time well spent.
T: What’s your favorite place so far? Why?
S: My recent trip to Gold Coast! I went to Byron Bay lighthouse, it was really beautiful! You get to enjoy the panoramic view from the cliff, looking down at the Pacific ocean and the sound of crashing waves is simply relaxing. I was lucky enough to spot a school of dolphins swimming along the shores. I could literally sit there for hours just to enjoy the view.
T: One unforgettable travel experience or incident that sticks in your mind…?
S: TukTuk scam in Thailand! Went to the same place the next day with a taxi and it cost much lesser than what I paid for the TukTuk.
T: What was the most challenging thing about traveling?
S: Sticking to budget!
T: What place is top of your bucket list?
S: Switzerland and New Zealand both for their postcard picture view. I wanted to see it with my own eyes…hopefully, one day.
T: One advice for travelers?
S: Do some research on the place that you are going to so you won’t miss any hidden Instagram worthy spots around that place.
