Home » Guide for Muslim Travellers » 5 Best Halal Restaurants in Busan

Can you eat halal food in Busan? As one of the largest port cities in the world, Busan has become a melting pot of people from different nations and backgrounds. Thus, it’s not surprising to find Muslims counted among its minority groups. The South Korean government has made every effort to care for the needs of its Muslim minority, and so it’s not that difficult to find a restaurant serving halal food in Busan. Finding the Busan Masjid is the key to finding halal restaurants in Busan. Most halal-certified restaurants are clustered around the masjid, though you can also find halal-friendly food elsewhere. If you’re not that much into Indian food and would rather try traditionally made Korean dishes, you can try the street food at Changseongdong Meokja Golmok. They’re not really halal-certified, but since the food is cooked right then and there, you can watch the cooking process. You can also opt for vegetarian Busan dishes like bibim dangmyeon or cellophane noodles with vegetables (without the fish cakes); milmyeon or cold noodles with either chicken or beef; and ssiat hotteok, Busan’s take on regular hotteok except with seeds. Or, if you can cook at your hotel, you can drop by the Asian halal food stores in Sasang-gu such as Pak Asia Halal Food so you can make your own food.

Finding halal food isn’t really a problem in Busan. Again, just find the Busan Masjid and you’ll encounter a lot of dining options there. Best halal restaurants in busan! Find this post helpful? Time to book that trip to Busan!
